What is a Brazilian Butt Lift with Fat Transfer to Buttocks?

Beverly Hills patients that want to lift their buttocks to a more desirable and perky position have a couple of different options. First, there are silicone gluteal implants. With this option, Dr. Bruno inserts a silicone implant underneath the muscles in the buttocks to achieve the patient’s desired shape. For our patients that don’t have enough fat for a fat transfer to buttocks, gluteal implants are a terrific option.

The second option is a Brazilian butt lift that adds volume and shape using fat transfer to buttocks. Beverly Hills patients will undergo liposuction treatment first. During the liposuction portion of the procedure, Dr. Bruno removes fat from several areas including the abdomen, thighs, and waist. The fat is then processed and sterilized so it can be injected into the buttocks to give the patient a fuller, leaner, and more hourglass shape.

How Much Fat Do You Need for Fat Transfer to Buttocks?

Beverly Hills patients often ask us exactly how much fat they need to have to be a candidate for a Brazilian butt lift. Of course, the exact number is impossible to determine without an in-person consultation. However, on average, patients will need to have a body mass index (BMI) of at least 22. There are many patients who have a lower BMI that are terrific candidates for a butt lift.

What Are My Options If I Don’t Have Enough Fat for a Brazilian Butt Lift?

If a patient does not have enough fat for Dr. Bruno to transfer to the buttocks, one option is to simply gain weight. It sounds counterintuitive, but the reality is that gaining 5 to 15 pounds of fat can allow patients the additional fat they need for a Brazilian butt lift with fat transfer to buttocks.

The most important thing to remember is that before you do anything, call Dr. Bruno today. During your preliminary in-person consultation, Dr. Bruno will spend a great deal of time talking with you about what your goals are for the procedure. He’ll also perform an examination to see if you have enough fat for the procedure. If not, he can make specific, personalized recommendations on how you can move forward.
