What’s a Mommy Makeover?

Gone are the days when women with families walked around looking matronly. Today’s moms wants to be as lissome and beautiful as they were as co-eds.

For them, the Mommy Makeover was invented. This surgery is now a decade old, and it has transformed the look of motherhood. Learn the basics from this short video.

How Many Procedures Are Involved?

The most common procedures included in a Mommy Makeover are a tummy tuck and breast surgery. The goal: restore the patient’s body to its pre-pregnancy contours.

  • Stretched abdominal muscles are repaired, and excess skin in the stomach area is excised. We may also use liposuction to re-contour fatty deposits such as “love handles.”
  • Sagging breasts are lifted, and we may add volume (implants) to achieve the most pleasing shape.

Some women choose to include some facial “tweaks” in their makeovers.

Who Is a Good Candidate for a Mommy Makeover?

Anyone who is finished with childbearing, is generally healthy and doesn’t like her post-childbearing look is a good candidate.

Is It Safe to Undergo Multiple Procedures?

This depends on a woman’s overall health. Ideally, we want to limit your time in the O.R to 6 hours or less. During a consultation I’ll evaluate your particular situation. Perhaps a single, long operation is inadvisable. In that case, I can still reach help you reach your goals by booking two separate procedures.
