A: Lifestyle changes before liposuction
Your body weight should be as close as possible to your ideal weight prior to liposuction surgery. Your “problem areas” will be easier to identify and treat when you are at your ideal body weight. Liposuction works best on patients who are not significantly overweight and patients who have good skin tone. You will still need to diet and exercise properly to maintain your weight and results after surgery. Liposuction is merely an extension of a healthy lifestyle (diet, exercise) not a cure for a poor lifestyle. You must also stop smoking for several weeks before and after liposuction or any cosmetic plastic surgery procedure.
