I had Restaylne in the past and it really bruised. the bruises lasted over 3 weeks!! is Juvederm similar in that I will get bruising from the injection?
A: bruising with injectables
All types of injectables (Juvederm, Restylane, Radiesse, etc.)can cause temporary bruising. This is injector dependent occasionally and may also be related to recent intake of aspirin or Motrin by the patient, which should be avoided about 10 days prior to injection. Application of ice to the injection site can help to minimize swelling and bruising as can the product Arnica, which is a homeopathic medication shown to reduce bruising.
Please consult with your board certified plastic surgeon regarding ways to minimize bruising prior to any injectable.
