There has been a large increase in the number of males opting for the male breast reduction procedure.  Most report are showing the number of male breast reduction procedures doubling from the number being performed five years ago.

Many men find that Gynecomastia (male breast tissue) embarrassing and uncomfortable.  Typically men having this surgery performed are older representing about 30% of the cases performed.  But there is a growing number of young boys having the procedure done as it can be very embarrassing looking so much different than other boys their age.

The NHS provides the operation but many men find there are too many forms and guidelines.  Plastic surgeons now see that attitudes towards cosmetic surgery are changing and it’s being accepted.

For men the stigma of having plastic surgery is lessening and it is becoming more widely accepted to have male breast reduction and other male cosmetic procedures performed.  These procedures are significantly helping men regain their confidence and making a huge improvement in their lives.

Many men that suffer from Gynecomastia are labeled with obesity but many are suffering from this condition due to hormone imbalances or side effects from medication.
