Many patients will ask me this question: “Can I have a tummy tuck done at the same time as a Brazilian buttock lift (fat transfer)?”. You must be in good general health and be a non-smoker for this combination of procedures. If you are taking any prescription medications you will need medical clearance from your primary care doctor before surgery. Also, your surgeon should be able to efficiently complete these surgeries in under six hours which will reduce you risk of developing blood clots in your legs during the surgery.

Remember, that after the surgery you will not be able to sleep on your back or your stomach for about two weeks. This is important to preserve the highest percentage of fat cells after the surgery. Some patients will elect to have the Brazilian buttock lift done first followed by the tummy tuck a week or two later. There is no right or wrong way of approaching this combination of procedures, just be sure your plastic surgeon evaluates your medical history thoroughly before having any cosmetic plastic surgery performed.

Also be sure your procedure is done in an accredited surgery center or hospital.
