I want to go for the Brazilian Butt Lift in March. Can someone tell me what is the usual recovery time for this type of procedure?

A: Brazilian buttock lift-recovery

Most patients will take about one week off of work to recover from a Brazilian buttock lift (fat transfer to buttock). The most important aspect of the recovery is to avoid sitting directly on the buttock for approximately two weeks. This may seem like a long time, however it’s important to avoid pressure on the newly transferred fat cells to ensure their survival. You can modify your sitting by using pillows placed under your upper thighs so that the pressure is taken off the gluteal area. You will also wear a compression garment for about four weeks. It takes several months for most of the swelling to subside and for the skin to shrink in the areas (abdomen) where the fat was harvested.

Please consult with a board certified plastic surgeon prior to scheduling this procedure.

Best wishes,
