The best and safest way to augment the buttocks is by way of fat injections. The fat is taken from the patient’s own body and re-injected into the buttocks to create fullness and to improve shape. There is a product called PMMA ( “Artefill”) which is indicated for injection into deep wrinkles and folds of the face- but not FDA approved for buttock injections. The product is composed of 20% of a firm substance called PMMA and about 80% collagen. The product comes in a 1cc syringe and can vary in cost from $800-1000. This amount is far too small and far too expensive to give any type of noticeable result in the buttock. I would not recommend having this product injected into the buttock in this country or in any other.
